Pork
and Pear

Crispy pork belly, soft honey-cinnamon fruit, and smashed golden potato wedges tossed together in the pan juices. Rich, sweet, salty and very cosy.

Method

Cook it in stages, then bring everything together

Prepare the pork

  1. If your pork is in one piece, cut it into long strips about 1.5cm thick.
  2. Dry the pork well with paper towels.
  3. Sprinkle salt over all sides.
  4. Place in the fridge for now.

Prepare the apples / pears

  1. Cut the apples or pears into bite-size cubes.
  2. Put them in a bowl with about 2 tablespoons of honey.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
  4. Add a pinch of salt.
  5. Cover and microwave until soft, about 4 minutes.

Prepare the potatoes

  1. Pour the frozen potatoes into a bowl.
  2. Cover and microwave until defrosted, about 3 minutes.
  3. Mix with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
  4. Cover and microwave again until soft, about 3 minutes.
  5. Once soft, crush the potatoes a little with a spoon.

Cook the pork

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat.
  2. When hot, add olive oil.
  3. Place the pork strips in the pan, skin side down.
  4. Fry the skin side until golden and crispy, about 5 minutes.
  5. Turn and fry the other sides for about 1.5 minutes each.
  6. Remove the pork from the pan.
  7. Cut the strips into 1.5cm-wide pieces.
  8. Set aside.

Mix everything together

  1. Heat the same pan again.
  2. Add about 2 tablespoons olive oil.
  3. Add the potatoes.
  4. Let the potatoes become slightly crispy, about 3–5 minutes.
  5. Add the pear and mix for about 2 minutes.
  6. Add the pork and mix for about 2 minutes.

Serve and enjoy

  1. Remove from heat.
  2. Serve on a plate.
  3. Enjoy with side dishes.
